Welcome to RossiDrums!

Hello, everyone!

I am currently in the process of completely revamping my website, but it is taking a lot of time, as I'm trying to learn the process myself in between the other crazy things I have going on.  Until the new site is up, the gig calendar, resume, and this front page area will all basically be down.  So, here's what's going on:

First of all, my friend Derek Mauldin and I have released an EP called Dance.Cry.Love.!  It's six original songs, co-written, performed, and produced by the two of us.  We are really proud of this effort!  It's available on iTunes and Amazon MP3, and you can also contact me directly if you'd like to buy a hard copy of the disc.  If you want a digital copy, the link to the iTunes page is http://goo.gl/MVaHY, or you can search "Maul Rossi" on Amazon or Spotify.

Speaking of original music, I am pleased to announce that I am now the drummer for Suzi B. and the Family Tree.  Suzi is a well-respected local musician who is making quite the name for herself.  The band has opened for Sixpence None The Richer, and has been approached about some cool opportunities including live television performances.  Suzi's first album will be dropping later this year, and I play harmonica on one of the songs, "Fairytale."  We have also been approached about some cool festivas and other opportunities that I am looking forward to.

Also, my good friend Emily Yanek will have her second album coming out soon, and I played drums on 4 tracks of it.  If you haven't checked out Emily's stuff yet, check out her first album on iTunes or Amazon.  I play on multiple tracks on it as well, and it's an excellent debut album.

As far as the theatre work is concerned, I'm still busy as all get out.  I'll be performing for the third consecutive year at Central Dauphin High School's spring musical.  I also remain the house drummer at Allenberry Playhouse.  We are currently wrapping up the run of our 2012 Murder Mystery Weekend.  This season features some amazing shows, including "The Andrews Brothers," "Annie," "Happy Days," "The Full Monty," Hairspray," and "A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline."  There will also be a new Murder Mystery coming in late 2013 that I will be performing at.  This will be a large part of my 2013 booking schedule, obviously.  I'm sure the fall will bring the usual suspects, including possible gigs at the Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center,  Harrisburg Jewish Community Center, PennState Harrisburg, and many other venues.

For the fourth year in a row, I will play well over 200 gigs this year.  I am truly amazed that I am able to make a living doing this.  I can think of nothing I'd rather do, except for possibly work at Jurassic Park.  And seeing how that place is both unsafe, and, more to the point, fictional, I don't think that will happen.  Here's to the present and the future!  I'll see you all with the new site, and I'll see you on the road!
